Maintenance Technician

About the Role

On-site role at our Elma, Washington plant performing preventive and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment, pumps, valves, and process piping that keeps our hydride and boron lines running. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with operators and engineers in a tight, safety-first crew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules on pumps, compressors, agitators, and process control valves
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical failures with minimum production downtime
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals
  • Support shutdown and turnaround activities including tear-downs, inspections, and rebuilds
  • Complete maintenance work orders and document parts usage in the CMMS
  • Coordinate with production operators to schedule maintenance windows around batch cycles
  • Follow lock-out/tag-out, hot work, and confined space entry procedures without exception

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience (chemical, refining, food, or pharma)
  • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills in pipefitting, pump rebuilds, and basic welding
  • Ability to read mechanical and process drawings
  • Comfortable wearing full PPE including SCBA in a chemical plant environment
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts and respond to call-outs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with reactive chemistry, cryogenic systems, or high-purity process equipment
  • Vibration analysis or predictive maintenance training
  • Welding certifications (TIG / SMAW)
  • CMMS experience (Maximo, SAP PM, or similar)
